Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna was celebrated in the junior school with great joy and zeal. The children of classes I and II were colourfully dressed as Radha and Krishna. Each class had put up a Janmashtami Jhanki ,showing Vasudev (Lord Krishna’s father) carrying baby Krishna in a basket, to Gokul, to save him from the cruel Kansa. The Jhanki also depicted various stages of Krishna’s life. After preparing the Jhanki, the offering was done. The Tilak was put and the sweets were distributed among the children and the teachers. The Junior section had also put a small swing for the children on this occasion. The children  were happy that their efforts in making the Jhankis were acknowledged by the Bishop and the other guests.
