Class II celebrated its State Day on January 30.The state of Gujarat was taken up by the students for their State Day. A project on Gujarat was given to the children during the winter break.
The students also made Torans and decorated pots with mirror work in their S.U.P.W periods.
A CD on different aspects of Gujarat was also shown to the children on the smart board.
The Chief Guest of the programme was Mrs. Merry Barua. The programme organized in the school auditorium started at sharp 10:30AM. The programme began with a Gujarati prayer followed by a Hindi one – “O Paalanhare…”The White Revolution in Gujarat was depicted in the form of a village scene in which the children acted and danced to the song “ Mero Gaam Kaatha Paare Ja…”.Next , the children performed the Dandiya dance in colourful attires. The Siddhi Dhamal dance, a tribal dance of the Siddhi community of Gujarat, was a feast for the eyes. Our children gyrated to the song “Dama Dam Mast Kalandar”. Last, but not the least, Gandhiji’s contribution to India’s independence was shown through an unforgettable dance drama which mesmerized the audience. The hard work which the children put in the decorations and regular practice sessions did help in the success of the programme. Thanks to all Junior Section teachers for their support.
As a part of the State Day, the students of class II were given the typical Gujarati food on January 22. The food items included Thepla, Khandvi , Dhokla and Shrikhand.
